Welcome back to the best blog that nobody reads. Where have we been the last three years? Well, that pandemic thing and the bad service in restaurants that followed kind of turned us off to fancy dinners as we were not getting a lot of enjoyment from them. So we started going out to lunch, because you can go to lots of “fast casual” places that don’t really have servers. And then we started talking about the Date Night blog. Continue? Abandon? Or change it to a lunch dates blog? Why not? Atlanta is a brunch/lunch town, but the local newspapers and bloggers (now called “social media influencers”) ignore the area outside of the Perimeter. But we really like eating in Marietta, and we don’t care about Tik Tok videos or how many followers we have on Instagram. Welcome to our pivot. Let’s do lunch!

Having said all that, we are lunching at one of Marietta’s newest restaurants, 7 Tequilas. They have five locations, all interspersed in the northern Atlanta suburbs. This one is located right off the Marietta square. The first thing you notice when you walk in is how beautiful the decor is. Fancy tile, exposed wood and brick, comfy booths–they spent some money on the place. That means that your lunch is going to cost a lot, right? Maybe not…read on!

There’s also a tortilla press machine right up front. They were making the tortillas fresh as people ordered them. We asked, but the machine has no name.

Want a deal? Order from the 7 Tequilas lunch menu. They have a lot of different things for lunch, or you can make your own combination. How about the chicken flautas?

You get two flautas, rice, guac and queso for $9. How’s that for a deal? Those having bigger appetites can make their own combo.

I ordered a beef enchilada and a chicken chimichanga combo. It also comes with beans, which had not arrived when photos were taken. The chimichanga is huge and half of it goes home for lunch the next day. I liked the enchilada better as the large amount of chicken in the chimi was a little dry. At only $13, you leave full.

We had only one complaint: the service was a little uneven. Our server was very sweet, but she brought me sweet tea instead of unsweet and the beans, which are part of the combo, didn’t arrive until we were about halfway through the meal. Small complaints? Perhaps.

The bottom line on 7 Tequilas: What value! And a photo wall to boot. When two people can eat lunch with table service for around $30 with tax/tip, that’s a deal. Maybe they aren’t charging enough?
